“Geography is a subject which holds the key to our future” Michael Palin

At Christchurch Learning Centre, Geography opens the door to a dynamic and complex world. At KS3 we explore a wide range of countries and investigate different areas of Geography at each destination. Also, students gain an understanding of different cultures and examine current issues on a local, national and global scale. Through Geography students learn to value and care for the planet and all its inhabitants.

At GCSE level, students study aspects of physical Geography like tropical rain forests, coasts and plate tectonics where we examine natural processes and interconnections. Also, students study human Geography where different viewpoints, values and attitudes are considered in relation to urbanisation, sustainable living and narrowing the development gap. Students cover a range of case studies to support their learning and investigate different types of fieldwork.
